I had promised myself I would not have a living room full of toys when I had kids. HAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!!! Now that I have a toddler I know how totally insane I was! But the toys really did drive me crazy so I was determined to create a space to contain them, so that I didn't need to look at them all day. I met another mom that had converted her under stairs closet into a play room for her 2 boys! It was genius! But it just didn't work with my townhouse layout (plus I had made my under stairs closet into my "wine cellar" and I wasn't willing to give it up!!!). We happened to be updating our living room with new flooring & furniture so I finally decided that we would move the sofas away from the wall a bit more (Where the old sofa & a sofa table were) and make a play area for her. AND WE LOVE IT!! Ashlyn is here close to us & her toys are contained! And We can play with her an all still be together in the living room! WIN-WIN!!!!
Check out the transformation:
I Knew I would need storage for all of her books first of all. She LOVES looking at books and has quite a collection now. This bookshelf was perfect because I could organize her books & add the toy bins for stuffed animals & the millions of little toys she has laying around!
The foam letter flooring was as much to protect the floor from scratches, protect her head from falls & add all that color!!! Its so fun! Plus she loves to pull up the letters & we work on her A-B-C's when we put them back together! The rocking chair was a gift from her grandmother & the pillow I got at my local Home Goods. I think I use it more than she does! ;) Check out these links

Y'all, I have to admit I am SO TIRED this week. We are transitioning Ashlyn to her big girl bed and lets just say sleep has been limited. So please forgive the poofy eyes & dark circles because I really did LOVE this months trunk & can't wait to share it all with you! HERE ARE MY TOP 3: This is the 3rd trunk I've gotten from Trunk Club & I've always found something that I love! And I COMPLETELY trust my stylist because she sends me things that I would walk right past if I saw it hanging on a rack in a store but once I try them on I love them!! In this trunk I wasn't necessarily looking for anything in particular other that needing a Fall wardrobe update. I will post a pic of the items in my trunk long with what they look like on me & what I thought of each piece. Then, ill reveal what I decided to keep & what I sent back! And if you love this trunk, contact me or leave a comment and I will refer you to my stylist so you can try it out!!
So...out of this trunk, I decided to keep the jeans (LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!) & the 3 tiered necklace! Above are a couple of photos of the jeans with an American Eagle Tee (left) & a Target top (right) from my closet. I can't wait to see all the outfits Ill be able to make with them!!! And that necklace! Oh that necklace!!!
And it is now so easy to send everything back. I just put the items it didn't keep back in the box they came in, use the tape & return label they include & put it back on my porch or drop it off at UPS & thats it! I also get to leave feedback for my stylist so she can adjust my next trunk!!! If you like some of the items in this trunk, I have included links on the photos (I DO NOT receive any type of commission or payment on these items). Contact me via comments or email for a referral!!!
We transitioned Ashlyn to her big girl bed last night so, lets just say, sleep was limited! lol So forgive me if I ramble a bit today. But I couldn't wait to tell you about y experience with Warby Parker Glasses!!! Have you tried it yet? What did you think?
I've been seeing so many ads about Warby Parker glasses so I was super curious about them! I mean, at home try on! Thank you! I loved being able to try them on in MyY MIRROR in MY HOME (or in MY RV...lol)! And get the hubs opinion because I can't make a decision to save my life! lol Oh, and I love their story! Anyone that wears glasses knows how expensive they are and have likely been in that situation where money is tight & glasses are broken. But these are so affordable & super fun!!! I love it!!!
And...full disclosure...I had totally brain fog the day I ordered my trial & wasn't paying attention to the date I would receive them. They arrived the day before we left on our big Yosemite National Park trip. Yikes!! How was I going to try them all on (get decent pics...) and get them back out in the mail when I was running around like a crazy lady getting ready to head out on our adventure. Well...It was fantastic because I just took them with us! I took my time & tried them on a bunch of different ways & then sent them back from the road! I actually sent them back from the RV Resort where we were staying! lol Way up in the mountains, far from anywhere! I wasn't even sure they had mail service there! hahaha You should've seen the look on the check in lady's face when I asked her if I could send them! But that's how easy this whole process was! They come in the same box you send them back in & with a return label. I didn't have to do anything but drop them off! QUALITY: I do have to admit I was worried about quality. But I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. They are super lightweight but durable! Having a toddler means they have to withstand A LOT!!! Pulling them off my face, the grab & run, you mommas out there know what I'm talking about! But they totally withstood the toddler test (she even did a little try on of her own!
So, I highly recommend you click the link below (yep, if you love it as much as i did & decide to buy I could get a small commission-THANK YOU!!!) and get your FREE at home try on to see for yourself! Yay WARBY PARKER!!!
We have been in full recovery mode this weekend after the previous 10 days on the road with the RV. But I am so excited to finally get to share with you all about our adventure & hope you find inspiration to go out and adventure in the outdoors yourself! And please share your experience in Yosemite in comments! I love to hear other peoples perspectives! It has been so nice to be home, clean & spending the day watching football again! Oh, and that cold Fall weather we had planned for but didn't get in the mountains (more on that later) is here at home! So I am cozy in my sweatpants, on my couch, writing again! First Stop: Yosemite Lakes RV Resort
Hetch hetchyWhat a beautiful place! Known as the "Unknown Yosemite Valley". It truly is magnificent. I try to imagine what it was like before the dam flooded this beautiful valley. I had never heard of Hetch Hetchy before and had no idea of the controversy surrounding it. Since Im just learning about it myself, here are 2 links to articles with more information: Hetch Hetchy Valley: A Historical Debate Hetch Hetchy: Time To Redeem A Historical Mistake Next Stop: Yosemite ValleyWhat can i even say about how magnificent this place is!! We had the most amazing weather! (I even bought us those super fun matching PJ's because the weather report said it was going to be in the 30's at night...but it was actually in the 60's so we were SO HOT in them but were determined to get a fun pic! lol) The first 2 afternoons we got to experience an afternoon thunder/lightning/rain storm. They only lasted an hour or 2 then the skies were completely clear! It was so neat to hear the thunder roar through the canyon and granite walls! So crazy! The days were spent riding our bikes around the park (to Yosemite Villeage, Half Dome Village, Mirror Lake), cooking fun camping food (Potatoes Au Gratin, Beef Stew, Foil bowls...yummy!!) & swimming in the Merced River! Even our 14 year old dog, Maverick, loved sitting by the river! I was certain I'd see a bear on this trip. (I have a secret obsession with seeing one...from a distance....a long distance...and preferably from inside a vehicle or building! lol) But no bear. We did get to see a wild Bobcat...yikes! He was small but I was still frozen in my tracks! And lots of Deer & Cows...yes, cows! lol We had an incredible trip! It was sad to leave but we were ready for some long showers & clean clothes! Thank you to my amazing husband for planning everything & driving us 6 hours each way for this amazing adventure! Traveling in the RV made it so much easier to entertain this little lady on the road!
Let me know if you have a trip planned and have any questions about the park or the drive in (Oh god...the drive in...!!! HINT-If you're afraid of heights DO NOT DRIVE ON Hwy 41!!! YOWZA!!!) CHEERS!!! |
